FEATURE BOOK: Dear Mom by Peter Wilson

We're excited to feature this book for Mother's Day. It's by local Ajax, Ontario author Peter Wilson and was a surprise gift to his own mother on Mother's Day last year as a tribute to their special relationship. The illustrations are by local Port Perry, Ontario artist Carol Matsuyama. The story is a letter written by an older man which follows the mother/son evolving relationship from newborn baby to adulthood... how it changes and how it stays the same.

When Mama Comes Home Tonight by Eileen Spinelli

This heart-warming story was one of our favourites when my kids were younger. We loved the rhythm and the old-fashioned illustrations. Being a working mom certainly has its challenges but this story shows how precious evening rituals are between mother and children.
