Categories: Parent Picks

The Lennah nursing/bottle feeding necklace is a gorgeous piece of jewelry, which has been designed to safely keep little fingers busy during feeding. These necklaces are made from acrylic beads which have been tested, and approved for safe handling by children.

I have a 10 month old baby, and have been wearing the Madison necklace for the past month.  The necklace itself was a welcome splash of colour to my very earth toned wardrobe.  Admittedly, I found myself putting in on even when I knew I would not have any little one's in tow.  It's amazing how an accessory can give you a little lift on the days you feel a tad on the frumpy side, when no matter how long you stare at your closet nothing new appears!

Although we are past the days of long nursing sessions, my daughter has gladly traded in pulling at my hair (no matter how hard I try to keep it pulled back), to play with the colourful beads on the necklace.  As my sweet baby is now a girl on the move, it is also the perfect distraction during diaper changes.  I have resorted to all kinds of things to get her to stay still for the minute and thirty seconds it takes to do get the job done, but nothing is quite as easy or effective as the necklace dangling right at the edge of her finger tips.  I still have to move fast but it does the trick!

I have been thankful for the breakaway clasp at the back of the necklace.  The clasp provides a quick release, in order to prevent breakage if the necklace is pulled on too hard.

Overall I think this is a wonderful product that does exactly what the company claims, however I will provide a few points for consideration.

As the company states clearly inside the packaging, this is not a teething toy.  This can be problematic for a baby who's goal is to get everything/anything into their mouth.  If the necklace is being used as intended, at feeding time, this is not an issue.

If you use a front style baby carrier, you may find that you will have to take the necklace off as the baby gets tired.  My daughter loves to play with the necklace while she is in the carrier, but the minute she gets tired and wants to lean on my chest, the necklace has to go.

As much as my baby enjoys this necklace, I think that Moms with younger babies who are feeding frequently will get the most benefit from this product in the way that it is intended to be used.  I wish I had known about it sooner!

Aside from the functionality of the necklace, it is a beautiful, well made piece of jewelry, at a very reasonable price.  You can't go wrong!
