Fall has to be one of the best time around Durham – there is just so much to do and explore. From hiking, to apple picking, and pumpkin farms, to fall festivals, you just can’t beat it. There is something going on that will suit everyone in your family.

Other great options include the many Farmer's Markets that are open until the end of October. There is nothing like taking your family to a local Farmer's Market to check out the many varieties of fruit and vegetables that are grown in our own backyard. Not to mention, local markets are also wonderful places to pick up fresh baked goods and crafts.

Packing up a picnic, bundling up warm and heading out for an autumn bike ride, stroll, or hike is what makes Durham Region so special. Not only do we have hundreds of beautiful trails,  parks, and conservation areas where you can do everything from admire the changing colours, feed the ducks, watch the boats, or just relax.
