Durham Region's Creative Keys makes musical house calls.

This year we invited Creative Keys to our annual Durham Region Moms @ family picnic and asked them to play us a few tunes. Weren't we pleasantly surprised when they showed up with not only their guitars but also supplies in tow to teach all of our kids how to make shakers so they could take part in the music making !

Creative Keys (CK) started in January 2002 with three students enrolled. Now, six years later, over 70 students are enjoying the benefits of a life filled with creative music! Their purpose is to promote music education starting at a young age and with various skill levels. They believe that music is not just an art form but also helps students focus on day to day tasks, learn valuable life skills (such as persistence and responsibility), and that having fun doesn’t just come from a T.V. set. Music is something that kids and adults alike can use to either express themselves or entertain. But whatever the reason for beginning music lessons, we believe the experience should be fun!

One of the unique characteristics of Creative Keys is their ability to save people valuable time.  They offer parents the choice of having a qualified instructor travel to their home!  In a day where people seem to be busier than ever, this has come as a great relief to many of our clients.  In home lessons offer students the opportunity to learn where they’re comfortable, on instruments they use every day and without the distractions of a break in routine that come with traveling to someone else’s home for lessons.  For those who still like to travel for their lessons, we offer that service as well.

Creative Keys offers lessons in Bowmanville, Courtice, Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax and Brooklin and is planning on expanding to encompass the entire Durham region.  Call 905 576. 8459 to find out if we have a teacher in your area or visit their website at
