Are you the parent of an adolescent or young adult living with mental health challenges? Parenting is a tough job under the best of circumstances. Parenting a child with mental health concerns brings its own unique sets of challenges with no real roadmap for management. As a mental health provider, and a mother of two children with mental health concerns, I know first-hand the difficulties in navigating an overburdened system with long wait-times. I also understand the time and energy it takes to manage our children’s mental health, as well as the effect on our own wellbeing. This open group is for anyone raising adolescents or young adults (approximately 11-24 years of age) with mental health issues. Groups will be held on the 4th Thursday of each month from 6:30-8:30pm. This group will be supportive in nature with psycho-educational topics such as managing stress, care-giver fatigue, advocating for your family, and self-compassion. There is a maximum of 12 participants so please call or email to reserve your spot. There is a small fee of $10 to attend this group.
