Museums exist to inspire, to fascinate and to encourage creative thought. Given our curious natures and innate desire to collect, it is no wonder that children are drawn to them. The Oshawa Museum is hosting a special DDSB PA Day program on Friday, January 19th from 9 am – 3 pm based on its hugely successful 2017 exhibit, Celebrating 60. This exhibit, which celebrated the 60th Anniversary of the Oshawa Historical Society, brought together 60 different artefacts from various aspects of the Oshawa Museum’s collection. Children will spend the day creating art and activities based on these artefacts; curating their own mini-exhibit, making pinhole cameras and jewelry based on the Museum’s collection of Victorian hair jewelry. This program costs $20 per child and is suitable for children JK – Grade 8. Parents must register their children by phoning the Oshawa Museum at 905-436-7624 ext. 106. Lunch, snacks and drinks are not supplied by the Museum. Please note we cannot guarantee a nut free environment.
