Saturday, December 03, 2016 | Annual Lamplight Tour

Description

The Lamplight Tour is a timeless annual event at the Oshawa Museum and has been celebrated for over 25 years. The evening invites you to look back and reminisce about your family’s Christmas traditions while enjoying those of Oshawa’s Victorian settlers. This year the Lamplight Tour falls on Saturday December 3rd and runs from 6 – 8 pm. Admission is $5 per person and free for members of the Oshawa Historical Society. If you’ve attended the Lamplight Tour over the years, you know we like to stick to tradition; and while we’ll still be adhering to a traditional Victorian theme, we’ll be envisioning Henry House from a few sets of new eyes. Sue Pitchforth from Décor Therapy Plus is an Award winning Staging, Re-Design & Decorating company that has been in business since 2001. She is involved with a number of charities and projects including Chairing Doors Open Whitby. Brooklin Floral & Garden Shoppe is a reputable, small family run business who has been the recipient of the Oshawa This Week Reader’s Choice Award for the last six years. Both of these businesses share our vision and appreciation for Victorian culture and décor. This will also be the fourth year that we’ll be taking photos with Father Christmas in the Drive Shed. We’ll celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Oshawa Civic Band in Robinson House and feature music from our collection of phonographs and gramophones on display in the music room. Curator, Melissa Cole will be on hand to discuss the Museum’s latest exhibit ‘Getting in Tune.’
